A sovereign AI assistant is an AI tool whose data, models and infrastructure stay under European control and European law. Sovereignty works on two axes: outward, your AI is not exposed to non-European jurisdiction or to access that could be switched off from elsewhere; inward, you are not locked into a single model or vendor either, thanks to interoperability and free choice of European AI providers. Hivanced runs in Europe and uses Mistral as its default model. It is GDPR-native by design, giving you the technical means of your compliance rather than a certification label: compliance also depends on how you use it, where you remain the data controller.

Your data is hosted in Europe (Scaleway, France) and stays in Europe. It never crosses the border without your explicit authorization. Hivanced is built so European business teams keep their data under European rules.

By default, no. Your data is hosted and processed by European providers (Scaleway in France, Mistral for AI) that are not US companies and so are not subject to the US CLOUD Act. The Act reaches providers under US jurisdiction, wherever the data sits. If you enable a non-European AI provider, that processing leaves the European perimeter; sovereign-tier customers can keep everything in Europe.

Hivanced is built for GDPR (GDPR-native) and gives you the technical means of your compliance. Your data stays in Europe: hosted in France, European Mistral model by default, no transfer outside the EU without your explicit authorization. Data access and erasure rights are tooled. Data is encrypted at rest and in transit. Tenant isolation is strict: each teammate sees only what their permissions allow. Full compliance stays a shared effort: as the data controller, you define your purposes, retention and legal bases; Hivanced provides the technical foundation to honour them.

Hivanced is built for the EU AI Act era. Every AI interaction is transparent and auditable, in line with the Act’s transparency principles. This is a design posture, not a compliance guarantee: concrete obligations depend on how you use the assistant.

Hivanced connects to the tools you already use, including Google Drive, Microsoft 365, Notion, Slack and HubSpot, so the assistant is grounded on your company’s own knowledge through retrieval-augmented generation (RAG).

It does both. Hivanced answers grounded on your data, and it can act through a secure, permission-aware tool layer: for instance, generating images, video and copy in its built-in Studio, always within what each user is allowed to do. Your connected sources stay read-only. Hivanced reads them to ground its answers; it never writes back to them.

Yes. Hivanced is built in the open under a European open-source licence (EUPL). You can audit how it works and self-host the open-source version, with no lock-in: your data stays yours to take with you. The public repository is on its way.
